Howdy! My name is Michael J. Cermak, Jr. I’m better known on the Internet as TechGuy. I currently reside in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania with my beautiful wife, Heather.
I’m a full-time computer nerd. I own and operate Tech Support Guy, where a large community of volunteers provide free help with computer problems. It’s been mentioned in several publications, including Money Magazine, Computer Shopper, and PC World. I also appear on the Computer America radio show every month.
I own a small computer consultation company, CermakTech, that provides networking and computer service for businesses in the Waynesboro and Chambersburg, PA area. I’m involved in a handful of local organizations, including the Rotary Club of Waynesboro. I’m currently the president of the Greater Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce.
I sometimes take a break from sitting in front of a computer by taking to the skies. I am a partial owner of a Cessna 172 based in Hagerstown, MD (KHGR) and enjoy flying for that $100 hamburger. My other vehicle is a 2006 Toyota Prius.
I’ve had several eye surgeries, retinal detachments, and other excitement due to a genetic disorder called Stickler Syndrome.
I earned a Bachelors of Information Sciences and Technologies (IST), Systems Development Option from Penn State University in May 2005. I earned an Associates of Information Sciences and Technologies (IST), Networking Option from Penn State University in May 2002.
I am currently working on my Masters in Computer Science by attending classes at Shippensburg University.
I hold several computer certifications, including CompTIA A+, Network+, and i-Net+ as well as Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) in a handful of operating systems.
